The Saskatchewan Conference Prayer Cycle invites us to pray this week for the following congregations and ministries: General Council Offices; Eston: St. Andrew’s, Prairie Pine; Foam Lake, Leslie, Good Spirit; Five Oaks (Naicam, Spalding), Tamarack.
Summer Ushers: During July and August, we have invited members (and friends and families) of our many Ministries and Committees to greet us as we come into the Church, and to usher during the service. Today, we welcome representatives of Outreach. We thank them all for their work – today and throughout the year.
Street closures: Note that due to the upcoming Regina Folk Festival, the 1900 block of Lorne Street will be closed from 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 8 until 7 p.m. Monday August 14.
Food and Fun Summer Event: Sadly the Bowls and BBQ event has had to be cancelled. Our thanks to all who offered to help and those who wanted to come. All ticket money will be returned. Please watch for the Autumn Pot Luck!
Summer Flowers: For the months of July and August, you are invited to share your garden flowers on Sunday mornings as has been the tradition at Knox-Met in past years. The flowers can be placed on the communion table or on the stage just prior to the service. Thank you for sharing the beauty of God’s world with us! Consider the lilies how they grow — Luke 12:27
Doors Open Regina: Knox-Metropolitan United Church (and the bell tower) is one of the most popular stops on Doors Open Regina (a tour of special downtown buildings) which happens on Saturday, August 19. This is a great chance to show of our space to interested folks within the community. We are looking for people who can welcome guests during 2 shifts – 9:45 a.m to 12 p.m. and then from 11:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. (or both). If you are able to help with this important Outreach to the community, please contact the office to sign up. No experience needed, materials provided, you just need to offer an enthusiastic welcome!
